Exhibition

The Three Classicists exhibition was held at the Royal Institute of British Architects from the 6th – 29th May 2010. The Three Classicists are young designers who work in the classical style and have been friends for many years: Ben Pentreath, George Saumarez Smith and Francis Terry. Although from competing practices, they share common interests and believe in the relevance of classicism in the modern world.

The idea for the exhibition arose from the Three Classicists’ interest in draughtsmanship. Their work ranges from design sketches to finished presentation drawings, and from large urban settlements to full size decorative ornament. Many of the larger drawings were drawn at 1:10 scale so that they could be directly compared in size.

The gallery was furnished and decorated by Max Rollitt
